Wal-Mart's financial technology platform OnePay, will launch cryptocurrency trading and custody features later this year, initially supporting Bitcoin and Ethereum. Users will be able to trade cryptocurrency and use it to pay for purchases at Wal-Mart or repay credit card debts through the app. This move is driven by Wal-Mart's partnership with cryptocurrency infrastructure startup Zerohash to make cryptocurrency more easily accepted by everyday consumers and integrate digital assets into Wal-Mart's extensive financial ecosystem.
